Summer Schedule

"Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you." - 2 Thessalonians 3:1 (NIV)

New schedule for the summer!
The vision for this summer is to take one step back from church services for now, so we may prepare to take more steps forward in church planting by the end of summer.

May

May 23 at 15:00 We will have a special time of worship, Bible study, prayer, fellowship and DINNER at our home (call for directions and so we can know how much food to prepare).

May 30 at 10:30 Our last Sunday service at Europa City Hotel. It has been a good year and a half having more formal church services every Sunday, with all the adults going through the Old Testament together and the children having their own conference room to learn from Lena. But, sadly, half of our church members have moved out of Latvia and the other half will be out of t own for the summer, so we will stop renting these conference rooms until our group returns to it's previous size.

June - July

June - July 2010  We will devote ourselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word of God, focusing specifically on (1) our evangelism ministry, and (2) our home Bible study.

1. Evangelism Ministry  I will focus daily on reaching new people with the gospel, through one on one interviews, open air preaching, tract distribution and musical concerts. Only 2% of Latvians go to church regularly but they religiously go out in the summer. So we are going to take the gospel to them from city centers and pedestrian streets to popular parks, beaches and rivers. We've also been invited to visit friends in Estonia (to the north) and a village near Lithuania (to the South). So we are looking forward to an intersting summer of outreach, spreading the Word of the Lord. Watch our videos at http://www.calvary.lv/videos.php

2. Home Bible Study  I will continue teaching through Matthew chapter by chapter in June and July at our home. I am very excited to expound on Matthew 5-7 Jesus' famous "Sermon on the Mount" in June and July. But instead of meeting at a hotel, we will study in the comfort of our home, welcoming all who will come. Because it is at our house we are not publicizing the address, but if you are interested in studying with us, then you can call me for directions (my mobile number is 2780-3818) or even listen live through a skype conference call! Current Study: The Gospel according to Matthew

We are currently studying the gospel according to Matthew on Sunday mornings. I will be uploading MP3's.

Chris is risen!

This is more than a statement of faith, it's a statement of fact from the eyewitnesses themselves. Jesus in Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, Acts 1, 1 Corinthians 15 is proclaimed as "Risen"! So if it is true that Jesus is the Christ and Christ has risen from the dead just as the prophets predicted and the apostles saw fulfilled, then our faith is not in vain. Believers are justified. And neither is our labor in Christ in vain. Believers are rewarded. And neither is our suffering for Christ. Believers will enjoy God's presence forevermore. For if Jesus has conquered death, we all will rise from the dead. Some will be raised unto damnation and others unto eternal life (John 5:29). Those who have believed the testimony of the prophets (Old Testament) and apostles (New Testament) and and abide in His word will know the truth and the truth will set us free. So the life we now live we live by faith until the end of this life when we will see Him face to face and we will be changed. Then we will receive the reward of His suffering, we will attain to the resurrection unto life. We will rejoice with joy unspeakable before the throne of the Lamb who was slain but who rose again! Hallelujah! Therefore, join us as we celebrate the Resurrection and the Life. "I am the Resurrection and the Life" - Jesus Christ (see John 11:35) What? Resurrection Sunday Service of Calvary Latvia Where? In the conference rooms at Europa City Hotel, 199c Brivibas, Riga. When? Sunday morning at 10:30. The 3rd of April, 2010 Why? Because Jesus Christ is risen indeed.
